Well-being used to advocate for the improvement, on a holistic level, of the subjective reality, physical health, mental health, and built environment for individuals and the collective good. Scientific data helps to qualify how to improve well-being for individuals and groups. Architectural examples of each element, serve as a guide to inspire designers to incorporate strategies towards well-being. The values require us to thinking of our external surroundings and how they impact us internally.

Well-being of individuals does not exist as a singular event, but rather something part of a system with our environment. Our health works in relation to the health of the ecosytem we inhabit.

I aim to start a dialogue between well-being and the built environment. Designers need to use their influence thoughtfully, by considering how the built environment directly impacts its user’s well-being. By focusing on well-being and sustainability, architects improve the quality of human life, which directly correlates to how people treat themselves, the environment, and the people around them.
